Operating Hours: Wednesdays and Fridays between 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM for food pick-up and donations.
To Contact Us: Call 401-683-3674 (or email stjohns1foodbank@gmail.com). Leave a message if you have a question or a special request, need other assistance or if someone other than yourself needs to pick up food. We will return your call within 24 hours.
To Pick Up Food: Enter the marked lane at the Food Bank. A volunteer will come out to your car to assist you. Please do not park or get out of your vehicle. We may ask for some type of identification, but the Food Bank is available to ALL in need and is NOT restricted to Portsmouth residents.
To Donate Food: Non-perishable, non-expired food items can be dropped off anytime between 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM on Wednesdays and Fridays. Bring your donation to the lodge parking lot, follow the signs and a volunteer will come out to your car to receive it. Please do not park or exit your vehicle.
Items needed include cereal, pancake mix, syrup, pasta, mac & cheese, peanut butter, jelly, powdered milk, baked beans, canned fruit and vegetables, pasta sauce, canned pasta, canned vegetables, canned tuna or chicken, crackers, rice, canned soups, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and similar items.
Gift Cards to area markets are also gratefully accepted and used primarily to purchase needed items for the Food Bank supply. They will be selectively distributed and not included in Food Bank packages.
To Make a Monetary Donation: Checks payable to “St. Johns Lodge” can be hand-delivered to the Food Bank or mailed to St. Johns Lodge, 81 Sprague St., Portsmouth, RI 02871 (please note “Food Bank” on the check). Online donations can be made at www.stjohnslodgeno1.org/foodbank using credit cards, debit cards or PayPal.
About the St. John's Lodge
St. John's Lodge No. 1 has been active on Aquidneck Island for over two and a half centuries. The lodge was chartered on December 26th, 1749, and is under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons of Rhode Island.
