The Training Officer works under the supervision of the Administrative Captain. The Training Officer develops and prepares other officers and recruits to effectively handle the realities of police work by promoting the skills, professional attitude, and high sense of duty necessary to the police profession.

The Training Officer must be fully familiar with current departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures. He must coordinate and assist in the training of all personnel to fully execute their duties.
