  • The sticker indicates unacceptable materials were placed in the cart. Remove the incorrect items and place the cart out for collection the following week. Contaminated recycling loads increase costs and may result in fines.

  • Under Rhode Island law 23-90, the Mattress Recycling Council (MRC) manages mattress recycling statewide. Clean, recyclable mattresses can be dropped off for free at the transfer station—no sticker required. Contact Mega Disposal at (401) 424-4580 to arrange for pickup of heavily damaged, wet, or infested mattresses. Fees apply and must be paid directly to the vendor.
